Book 1 of the Fitting In series
Next Book Sorting Out

Two cops walk into a bar. Mason, the bartender, waits for the punch line, because no way in hell are these ridiculously hot men real cops. They’re straight out of a cop-fetish fantasy. But he quickly learns that Jack and Gray are the real deal, and they want him in the worst way.

What starts as a night of hot, three-way sex becomes a lot more. The two cops fulfill Mason’s submissive fantasies, but they also meet a more basic need, comfort. They want to take care of Mason, to offer him unconditional friendship, but their concern for him unnerves Mason more than even the kinkiest sex.

To find happiness with his new partners, Mason must change his belief that love is as much a fantasy as a pair of gorgeous, handcuff-wielding cops landing in his bed.

I read the blurb and bought this, expecting a titillating tale. I wasn't prepared to get as emotionally invested as I had.

Mason is a college drop-out working as assistant manager/bartender in a bar in Durham, NC. He said goodbye to his Duke tuition and expenses when he defied his parents wishes regarding his future a few years prior. Oddly, his parents felt this "gay thing" was a phase he'd outgrow--but they couldn't abide a child not accepting the career choices they made.

While working, Mason meets Jack and Gray--two beat officers who are investigating a string of robberies in Durham. Mason finds the duo sexy, but can't imagine these burly men are gay. Still, the officers come into the bar time and again, and the subtle cues they leave lead Mason to imagine more than a straight fantasy.

It soon becomes clear that Jack and Gray are interested in Mason--as a third. This doesn't work for Mason, however, because he's afraid of coming between them--emotionally, not physicially. He's dying to "come" between them. Bah-dum-dum.

Anywho, Jack and Gray manage to have their sexy way with Mason. There are light BDSM elements--bondage, spanking, orgasm denial--and the pair think this is a great deal. Mason freaks. He's getting too attached to his fantasy, and is sure the bottom will fall out and he'll crash hard.

There's a lot of angst, not the least of which surrounds the fact that Jack and Gray are closeted, despite living together. And, when Mason comes under fire in the robbery-ring, it's an eye-opener.

I really enjoyed this. The sex was...nuclear? Yep, probably that hot. The story was interesting and believable. Have a sexy cop fantasy? This menage delivers--times two.

Short, sweet and plenty of heat. I'm not sure why it's taken me so long to pick up the Fitting In series, but now that I started, I definitely need to continue. Especially since the end of the first book is just the beginning of the relationship between Jack, Gray and Mason.

Mason knows that there's no way a three-way relationship can really work. Someone always gets hurt and he learned this first hand. Jack and Gray have their work cut out for them while trying to convince him that there's room for Mason in their relationship.

I loved these guys together and I can't wait to watch this relationship continue with the next book in the series, Sorting Out.
After reading Silvia Violet's book Fitting In, I'm thinking this may be one of the most erotic m2m romance books that I've read in a good while. She is very detailed, but she also writes with a story in mind. When Mason, a gay college grad is dismissed by his homophobic family, he is presently unable to continue his plans for graduate study in chemical engineering. To support himself until better opportunities arise, he takes a job as a bartender. Then his life takes a decided turn when two policemen, Jack and Gray, two gay partners it seems, begin to visit "his" bar on a regular basis, primarily because a series of robberies in the neighborhood begin to take place. And therein lies another problem. However, there seems to be an immediate attraction between the three, but Mason had earlier experienced such a relationship, and it had turned out badly; no way did he want to come between two lovers again. Things become very hectic in short order. I plan to read more of Silvia Violet's work!
This was my first time reading this authors works and I love a triad story when done right and while this book had its moments, there was a lot of moments where it was just ridiculous or unfathomable. The two cops, going out drinking while on the job in full uniform and also drinking in full uniform when off the job really, where does this happen? And Gray, Mr Dominant, but it feels like he’s playing at the role, he loses his cool so quick, throwing bottles against the wall and tackling people, how is this man a Dom? And the BDSM aspects, it shows me that the author didn’t do any real investigation into this world. One scene where the took a crop to Mason, but where is the aftercare?

The story while entertaining at some points, needed a bit more grace and finesse, it was all, quick, and straight to the BDSM, no easing Mason into the game.

Overall just okay.
Mason is tending bar when two police offers come to investigate several robberies in the neighborhood of the pub. Jack and Gray are both stunning in Mason's eyes, and their appearance is enough to fuel several fantasies. The cops return several times over the next few weeks, but Mason is too afraid to do any more than stare at them when he thinks they're not looking. Finally Gray and Jack make a move and eventually get Mason back to the house they share, where the sex is even more mind blowing that Mason's fantasies. It isn't just a one night stand, either, but as Mason is drawn in he feels very conflicted. He was involved with a couple once before, and it didn't end well. As much as he craves what Jack and Gray do to him, he also cares too much for them to risk coming between them.

“Fitting In” is a rather unapologetic erotic story built on a solid foundation. There's a nice build-up to let us get to know Mason quite well before the bedroom gymnastics begin. Jack and Gray are a little more of enigmas, but as the series goes on for another few books, one suspects we'll get to know more about them in further installments. The scenes between the three are hot, kinky and varied.

The basis for the story may be pure fantasy, but it's told in a fashion that makes it almost believable. The prose flows along smoothly, making this a relatively quick read, as you rush to find out what happens next. Along with the hot three-ways there's also an emotional angle that keeps the book interesting. This may not be a story that will stick with you, but it's a fun read.
