This book was a total downer. Definitely not a romance that sweeps you away. The tone of this book was nothing like the previous two books. Book one was fun. Book two was hard to finish - story was thin/weak. Book three was down right terrible. I'm disappointed I wasted time/money on this story. I understand a writer can miss the mark every now and then but after spending time/money on two bad stories in a row... sadly, I won't be reading this writer again. Sorry but there are too many good books out there and too little time to waste on reading bad stories.*Not* a book club read.

This series has been nice. Lovely light read. If I had a con....it would be that the climax drops very quickly. The major buildup lasts the entire story..there's a climactic event and then it's straight to epilogue. I think the might be a little more to each story.
That said...still a nice read.
Max has been my favorite of the men. This book had a POV from Max and Meredith. I prefer POV stories. Prince Max is second in line for the throne and wants nothing to do with it. He wants to stay out of the spotlight. He meets Duchess Meredith to tell her that her grandfather has died. She has a son named Marty and an alcoholic father.
this was a great third book in this series. it did not disappoint. I was entertained, my attention held through the whole book. I highly recommend this series.
I will say how ever that much of the book was some what sad. the family pain was very evident. it wasn't as light a read as books 1 and 2. some of the continued family drama got a little repetitive. only the prince and his kindness made up for it.
so read but do note at times you may feel sad... it ends good so keep reading! )
Excellent storyline, well written with interesting characters. I think Marty steals the show. Meredith is a single mother, and in today's world not all that uncommon. How she handles and understands the demands of her royal connections and her own personal issues show both strength and intellegence. Max and Meredith's story rounds out the trilogy nicely. In some ways it was the best of the three.
I always want a story where the characters and the storyline hold my interest. Read the entire book before going to bed. ( really wish I had not had to go to work that next morning...LOL
Well, I have to say this book was not what I was expecting but I loved it.
It made me feel Meredith's pain, Marty's fears, Maxwell's doubts. How in such short time they got to know each other and become a family even when they didn't want to admit it.
I loved to hear about Sam and Alex, to have a glimpse of Cathy and David.
I must tell you I love fairy tales and princes.
Ryan Gosling would be my perfect Max <3
I loved the beginning of this book, ❤️ the way she feels the music and how she sings. And this quote
"Why did I blurt out idiotic things when I was nervous?
—Max
3.5 stars!!! I am a goner for the Royal Romance; I think that every girl has fantasized at least once about falling in love and living the life of a Princess. Nicole gave us three different stories of a royal and a "commoner", all with unique circumstances as to their connection and ultimate love story; yet each was plausible and oh so fun. With this last story, we finally get the yummy, reclusive, and introverted Max; the younger brother of Prince Alex (from Suddenly Royal) who along with Sam are now expecting their first baby. Even little sis Cathy is back, and we get a small glimpse of her love David (Samantha's college friend) from Recklessly Royal.
Max is the self professed bachelor Prince, who never thought he would settle down, let alone have kids of his own; but he has an undeniable attraction to Lady Meredith and her young son Marty. Meredith was reluctantly thrown into the world of nobility, when her Grandfather was recently ordained as the Duke of Thysmer. When the Duke dies unexpectedly, it is Max that provides the support to Meredith and Marty; and what he doesn't expect in the process, is that they will weave their way into his heart. This is a sweet ending to a royally good series, and I'm sad to see it end. Thanks Nichole for a delightful journey.
This third book in the Royal series is well-written, but it's only good, not great. As the third one in the series one would think that this would be better than the two prior books, but this is not the case. It's exactly the same, with the distraction that things are raised as problems and then ignored and not solved. Max is described early in the book as a "player" but this description never comes up again and he never acts on it. He focuses exclusively on Meredith, doesn't flirt with anyone else, and has no "player" mannerisms whatsoever. Thus, Max as a "player" is never a problem. The biggest flaw IMO is that Meredith has a son out of wedlock but when Max and she have sex (not a spoiler - you knew they were going to get there), they don't use a condom - TWICE! Moreover, neither of them ever says "gee, do you have protection?" They simply never discuss it, which is out of character for both of them. You would think, having had one illegitimate child, that Meredith would be conscious of not repeating the same mistake again, but nope! not a problem. Also, Max is described as a very private, guarded person, and you'd think he'd be careful not to leave royal bastards populating the kingdom, but nope! not a problem for him either. This carelessness is out of character for both of them, but is never addressed. Max is simply focused on and devoted to Meredith from the moment he steps into her life, handsome, rich, and charming, but he's insecure about her feelings for him. Meredith's hesitations are easier to believe. I don't mean to downgrade the book - it's a pleasant read, but it's predictable, formula-driven, and not as good as the two earlier books.
This book was a total downer. Definitely not a romance that sweeps you away. The tone of this book was nothing like the previous two books. Book one was fun. Book two was hard to finish - story was thin/weak. Book three was down right terrible. I'm disappointed I wasted time/money on this story.
