The book helps with organization. It motivates me. I clean 1 room for 30 minutes, setting small goals. Keeps house tidy, doesn't really "spring clean".
This book was actually siscouraging! It described a months worth (for me) of decluttering followed by detaled planning to come up with a complex plan for spending 30 minutes a day trying to detail clean the house one room per day. NOT what I was needing.
The book gives a good framework but is a little too structured for my taste such as drawing a sketch of my house. But it has some great tips for keeping a house clean throughout the week, always a challenge when a couple works full time.
Quick and easy, as long as one stays on-track. Easy to read and understand and flows pretty well. Not as complicated as many other books on organization, which make organizing the home seem like a full time job!
I have a cluttered home for several reasons. I thought if I read only half of the book I could get my place clean in 15 minutes. Wrong.
It's a very very good read with tons of good reasoning and ideas.
The book has some good tips, I'll give it that. It is a little short, but for this price I'm not saying it's a bad thing. The price point fits the content in the book.
What I like about the book is the time saver section - this could be worth the price of the book itself.
Overall I would say it's decent.
This is a short book that can be read in 30 minutes. Cleaning you house will take a lot longer. Basically, the author's main point is that you need to get rid of clutter and organize all of your "stuff" then you can zip through cleaning your house in a short time. Even then 30 minutes is very optimistic. The problem is that you could spend several years getting rid of clutter and organizing your "stuff" afterwhich you may only have the energy to spend 30 minutes in actual cleaning. I suppose if you had never before tried to de-clutter and organize your home you might find one or two ideas helpful.
